Who can become a member of The Horticultural Society of Preston, Elmstone, and Stourmouth?
Anyone with an interest in gardening can become a member of our club. We welcome gardeners of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to experts. Plus, there are many ways to get involved in our club, from helping to serve refreshments at our lectures and events to helping the committee to organize events to volunteering to set up the hall at our annual Spring and Autumn shows.
We welcome any members who are interested in contributing their skills and talents for the benefit of the club.
How do I become a member of the club?
To become a member, simply join in person at one of our meetings at Preston Village Hall, Mill Lane, Preston, Canterbury. Annual Subscription costs £10 per person, with £2 per lecture on top of this fee to cover refreshments.
What are the benefits of becoming a member?
As a member of our club, you will have access to a range of activities and events throughout the year, including informative talks and workshops, garden visits, plant sales, social get-togethers, and our popular annual Spring and Autumn shows. You will also have the opportunity to socialize with other gardeners and learn from their expertise.
How often does the club meet?
We typically meet once a month, usually on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm at Preston Village Hall, Mill Lane, Preston, Canterbury, CT3. We also hold special events and activities throughout the year, including garden visits, plant sales, and our annual flora competitions.
Do I need to have a garden to join the club?
No, you do not need to have a garden to join the club. Many of our members are apartment-dwellers or do not have their own gardens or allotments, but they still enjoy learning about and appreciating horticulture.
