Annual General Meeting

Join us for the Annual General Meeting as we reflect on the year’s achievements and discuss future plans. There will be a fun quiz and time to chat with members over a cup of tea/coffee and an Easter treat.

2nd May 2026

Plant Sale 

Join us on Saturday 2nd May for our Plant Sale. This year we plan to have plants and seedlings as well as gardening books and pots. Selling starts at 9.30am, so arrive on time so you do not miss out. The Big Breakfast will be at the Village Hall as well, so why not also treat yourself and your family to a full English Breakfast!

Rose and Sweet Pea Show

Join us for our members only Rose and Sweet Pea Show, please come and exhibit set up at 6.30pm at the village hall. There will also be an opportunity to enjoy seeing all the show items and mingle with members while enjoying cheese and wine. Show details will be emailed to members before the event and entries can be made either by completing the form or emailing tsmith@vfast.co.uk

Open Gardens - West Stourmouth

Members only - join us as we enjoy exploring two members' gardens in Stourmouth followed by refreshments in one of the Gardens. Details will be emailed to members before the event.

Up The Garden Path

Join us for a talk by Jane Scotchmer  entitled 'Up the Garden Path' about how garden designers might lead people astray. The talk will focus on the usefulness or not of garden designers. Jane is a well travelled gardener and historian who lives in Staplehurst, Kent.

Annual Trip

Members Only - Visit to Doddington to enjoy a guided tour of the garden with the head gardener followed by a cream tea. Cost £27 per person which includes travel, entrance, guided tour and cream tea. Sign up sheet will be at the meeting in April and May. Leaving from the Village Hall at 1PM.

Gardening for Wildlife

Join us for a talk by Joe Vary called 'Gardening for Wildlife. There will also be a Plant and Seed exchange. Joe trained at Wisley, is a gardening mentor based in Wickhambreaux providing online gardening advice for gardeners around the World. He has a whole series of online blogs and is enthusiastic about naturalistic planting.

Annual Autumn Show

Join us on this Saturday for our big show covering flowers, plants, vegetables and fruit. We will also have a buffet lunch which gives members and guests an opportunity to socialise. Show category details will be available nearer the time.

The Little Things that Run the World

Join us for a talk by Dr Clive Nuttman  entitled 'The Little Things that Run the World' Clive is a biologist based at Monkton Nature Reserve and regularly gives talks on concervation. His main interest is polination biology but he would describe his real passion as Natural History.

Myrrh, Mistletoe and Mischief

Join us for a festive talk by Sophie Leetheart entitled 'Myrrh, Mistletoe and Mischief. Sophie is from Black Knight Flowers, a cutting garden and has been a free-lance florist for 30 years. She trained at Moyses Stevens in London, working at The Inn on the Park Hotel and Claremont Club. Her talk will focus on Horticultural elements of Christmas. Including seasonal refreshments and a raffle
