The Horticultural Society of Preston, Elmstone, & Stourmouth recently held its highly anticipated Members' Sweet Pea and Rose Show on Wednesday, 28th July 2023, and we're pleased to share with you that it was an outstanding success!

Our member entrants presented an impressive array of carefully nurtured blooms, showcasing the diversity and splendour of these beloved flowers. The fragrant aroma of the sweet peas mingled with the delicate scent of the roses, creating an enchanting atmosphere that delighted the senses.

To enhance the occasion, committee member Crystal Evans arranged a delightful assortment of cheese, wine, and homemade organic elderflower for all members and their guests to enjoy. The delectable treats provided the perfect complement to the visual feast of flowers, offering a moment of relaxation and indulgence amidst the excitement of the event.

As the day drew to a close, the society recognised the outstanding achievements of its members by awarding certificates to the deserving winners. We applaud the proud recipients for their dedication, passion, and horticultural expertise, which shone through in their remarkable floral displays.

The Members' Sweet Pea and Rose Show was not only a showcase of nature's beauty but also a testament to the sense of community and camaraderie fostered by the Horticultural Society of Preston, Elmstone, & Stourmouth. The event provided an opportunity for members to come together, share their love for gardening, and celebrate their accomplishments in a warm and welcoming environment.

With the overwhelming success of this year's show, the society looks forward to upcoming future events that we hope will continue to inspire, unite, and celebrate the incredible talents of our members. Well done all, and thank you to those wonderful volunteers (Corinne, Jose, Phil, Simon, Alison, Crystal, Mona, & Jeremy) who helped set up, serve, and close down the village hall.
